LHS Class of 1963 meets for 60 year reunion

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison The Lamar High School Class of 1963 held its 60th year class reunion on August 23, at the Tea Shirt Shoppe Event Center. The high school annual from 1963 was present, along with facts about the graduating year and popular candy. Along with the other time period specific items, the Tiger Tales 1963 Senior Class Prophecy and Will boasted the alumni’s predictions for the future. The reunion was catered by BIG REN’S BBQ food truck. The class of 1963 had a good turnout with more than 20 people including spouses. Pictured are the class of 1963 attendees. Margie Owen Crabtree and Lynn Barry Divine were in attendance, but were not present at the time the photo was taken.

Lamar’s Promenade 2025 was held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Wyatt Earp Park. Prom attendees entered from the back of the stage and were announced as they walked across the stage, down the stairs and then up the walkway. Thankfully the weather allowed the promenade to be held at the park, with a large crowd gathering to view the many seniors prior to attending their prom that was held at the Gaderian in Carthage.

Naomi Schneider, daughter of Luke and Tanya Schneider, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In her free time Naomi enjoys horseback riding, fishing with her brother, drawing, listening to music and playing outside. She has ducks, geese, horses, a dog, outside cats, chickens, bunnies and turkeys. Some things that are important to Naomi are family, grades and pets.
