Tigers shut down Cubs, 40-7

Photo by Terry Redman The Tigers defense rose to the occasion once again as they didn't allow the Cubs to get anything going on offense. The Tigers starting defense has allowed only six points in the first three games. Come out on Friday evening to watch the Tigers and Seneca Indians battle for first place in the Big 8 West.

Alyssa Mitchell, an incoming junior at Lamar High School who is a member of the Tiger tennis team, recently placed second in singles in the Lebanon Tournament. She played in four matches that included players from Lebanon, Republic, Branson, Waynesville and Springfield. Alyssa’s parents are Joanna Moore and Ron Delrosario, Lamar. Ron began Alyssa’s tennis career at the age of 10 and has dedicated many years to help her get to where she currently is.

Drone photo by Joe Davis A capacity crowd at the Barco Drive-In was a site to behold on Friday night, July 19. According to Scott Kelley, theatre manager, sales are cut off at 310 cars and unfortunately some had to be turned away. No fears though as Twisters A Quiet Place, rated PG-13, will be playing at the drive-in every night through Thursday, July 25. An interesting note – The original Twisters movie that was released in 1996 proved to be a sell out as well.
