Seneca Indians upend Lamar Tigers, 28-14

Photo by Terry Redman The Class 3, No. 3 rated Seneca Indians came into Lamar and upended the Class 2, No.1 rated Tigers by a score of 28-14. The Indians improved to 4-0, while the Tigers dropped to 3-1 overall. Here, junior running back No. 12 Carson Sturgell is flipped after gaining good yardage in the Tigers home loss. No. 63 Jose Juarez is downfield helping block on the play. The Tigers will travel down to Granby on Friday evening to face the East Newton Patriots.

Alyssa Mitchell, an incoming junior at Lamar High School who is a member of the Tiger tennis team, recently placed second in singles in the Lebanon Tournament. She played in four matches that included players from Lebanon, Republic, Branson, Waynesville and Springfield. Alyssa’s parents are Joanna Moore and Ron Delrosario, Lamar. Ron began Alyssa’s tennis career at the age of 10 and has dedicated many years to help her get to where she currently is.

Drone photo by Joe Davis A capacity crowd at the Barco Drive-In was a site to behold on Friday night, July 19. According to Scott Kelley, theatre manager, sales are cut off at 310 cars and unfortunately some had to be turned away. No fears though as Twisters A Quiet Place, rated PG-13, will be playing at the drive-in every night through Thursday, July 25. An interesting note – The original Twisters movie that was released in 1996 proved to be a sell out as well.
