Arrangements are under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Online condolences may be shared at www.mcmiklefuneralhome.com.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Kevin Burns; her son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Denise Woodard; two grandchildren, Lincoln and Quincey Woodard, her faithful dogs, Nika and Chica; three younger sisters, Nyna Combs, Melissa Walters and Stephanie Colwick and husband Roy; several nieces and nephews, including Tyler Combs and wife Libby, Reid Walters and wife Ashley, Ross Walters, Ainsley Colwick, Kensi Colwick and a great-niece, Kelsey Walters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Brody Walters.

Mrs. Burns was born Oct. 21, 1962, in Lamar, to Jimmie Dale and Marilyn Sue (Whitchurch) Combs. She was a 1981 graduate of Matthews (MO) High School. She had a great love for the medical field, as she worked in many doctors’ offices throughout the years. She had the personality and natural charisma to make friends, no matter the situation. She was always willing to help, no matter when or where.

Her biggest blessing and joy in her life was her son, Jamie Ryan and her grand-babies, Lincoln and Quincey. She was devoted to spending as much time as she could with them, while making lasting memories. She enjoyed fishing, afternoon drives with no destination and walks with her dogs. She loved a good game night and would challenge anyone to a competitive game of Yahtzee or rummy. Weekends were spent with family enjoying barbecues and dinners.
