EDWARD LEROY JONES

JOPLIN- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar, for Edward Leroy Jones, 81, who died Friday, Nov. 3, 2023.

A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to assist with final expenses.

Survivors include his children Eric Jones and wife Dawn, Harrison, AR, Lori Wilson and husband David, Harrison, AR, Daniel Jones and wife Sheila, Harrison, AR and Edward Jones Jr., Carterville; a stepson, Jeremy McElhaney, Neck City; grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Brittany Jones, Autumn Wood, Megan Smith, Trey Jones, Mason Jones, Clayton Anderson and Amber Weaver and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Levona Evans, Lamar, David Jones, Lamar and Joseph Jones Sr., Greenfield.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Shively and brothers, Morris Jones and Robert Jones.

Mr. Jones was born Aug. 19, 1942, in Lockwood, to Hiawatha “Juanita” (Smith) and Paul Jones. He grew up in Greenfield and lived there until he moved to Joplin in his early 20s. He worked for Joplin Auto Spring Company for 40 years until he retired. He was also a shade tree mechanic, loved Harleys and fast cars.
