Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Lockwood's Logan Pittsenbarger (No. 5) takes down Archie quarterback Briar McIntire early in the Tigers playoff contest with top-ranked Archie Saturday at Lockwood. The Whirlwinds are coming off an 8-man state championship and sporting one of the largest rosters in 8-man football with a lot of experience and they used that experience and depth to end the Tigers' season 82-42. Look for a recap of the Tigers season in an upcoming issue of the Democrat. Also pictured for Lockwood is number 10, Hank Eggerman.

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Jasper Lady Eagles and Lockwood Lady Tigers squared off in a battle of two of the area's better teams recently at Lockwood. The visiting Lady Eagles came away with a 56-55 overtime victory. According to MSHSAA's website, the Lady Eagles are 10-0 at the Christmas break. The young Lady Tigers team is off to an impressive 7-2 start. Here Alivea Roberts is defended by Lockwood's Whitney Sangster.
