Third grade finishes regular season undefeated
The Lamar sixth grade Tigers ended their regular season on Saturday, Oct. 12, with a victory over Nevada, 40-12. It was a great day to be a Tiger, with both the offense and defense playing an amazing game. The Lamar Tiger youth football Super Bowl schedule shows the third and fourth grades playing on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Mt. Vernon, while the fifth and sixth grades will be playing at Carthage on Sunday, Oct. 27. Come out and cheer on your Lamar Tigers!

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The last Picnic in the Park for 2024 was held the fourth Thursday of the month, Oct. 24, on a beautiful, sunny day. Many turned out to enjoy the trucks prior to shutting down for the winter. Picnic in the Park is held at the Lamar City Park and will return in March of 2023.

Photos by Barton County Chamber of Commerce/Kristy Robertson A grand opening/ribbon cutting was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at The 682, located on the south side of the Lamar square at 123 W. 11th St. Events throughout the afternoon and evening included an axe throwing competition, a pool tournament and a cornhole tournament.
