Tigers pull off comeback to win state title in overtime

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Lamar Tigers overcame a three touchdown deficit to win the Class 2 state championship over Valle Catholic in overtime Saturday. They hoist the ninth state championship plaque in the program's history. All have been won since 2011.

Photo by Barton County Chamber of Commerce/Kristy Robertson It was a warm but pleasant day as many took the opportunity to visit the Wyatt Earp FallFest that was held at the Wyatt Earp Park on the northeast side of the Lamar square on Saturday, Oct. 5. Festivities continued throughout the day including vendors, food trucks, wild west reenactments, western music, a baby and toddler show and dog show, along with a lip sync showdown and a speech by Wyatt Earp himself. The day was deemed a success with many already looking forward to next year. The event is put on by the Barton County Chamber of Commerce with much help from the community.
