LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the First Baptist Church in Lamar for Beverly Kay Ramseyer, 71, Lamar, who died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at her home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Ramseyer; one son, Nathan Ramseyer and wife, Felicia, Jefferson City; one daughter, Jennifer Ramseyer, Liberal; two grandchildren, Alyssa Ramseyer and Taylin Ramseyer, both of Jefferson City; one brother, Richard Miller and wife Carolyn, Springfield and one sister, Mary Ann Henry, Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Loyd Victor Miller Jr. and a brother-in-law, Bob Henry.

Mrs. Ramseyer was born Aug. 25, 1952, in Carthage, to Loyd Victor Miller and Wilma Mabel (Stowell) Miller. She was a 1970 graduate of Golden City High School. She attended three years at School of the Ozarks and finished college, graduating from Missouri Southern State College with a Bachelor's of Science degree in December of 1973. She married Joe Wayne Ramseyer on Dec. 30, 1972, in Jasper.

Mrs. Ramseyer began her career working for Montgomery Ward and Finley Engineering and later worked in the office of Barton County Electric Coop (REA) for 35 years, serving as an accountant, office manager and interim CEO, retiring in 2015. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Lamar.
