LAMAR- Honoring her wishes, there will be no services held for Mary Katherine Wright, 79, Lamar, who died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Shannon Howard and wife Regina, Lockwood; three grandchildren, Chandra Comer and husband Cody, Webb City, Hayden Howard, Rochester, Minn. and Cristin Scott and husband Aaron, Golden City; five great-grandchildren, Carrigan Kay Comer, Crutcher J.Dee Comer, and soon to be born, Clara Jane Comer, Kahl William Scott and Lydia Allene Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton and two brothers, Gerald Kleeman and David Kleeman.

Mrs. Wright was born March 25, 1944, in Carthage, to Udo Albert Kleeman and Marjorie May (Youngs) Kleeman.

She Milton "Milt" Glee Wright on Sept. 26, 1995 in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death in 2008.

She worked as a hairdresser at Lamar Beauty Shop owned by Sandy Donald.

London Doody, daughter of Levi Doody and Tracy Read, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Things she enjoys are riding dirt bikes, hunting and fishing. She has one dog, six chickens and four cats. She likes to play out in the yard. At school she likes PE and Reading. London says God, family, animals and hanging out with friends are important to her.

The Barton County Retired Educators met Tuesday, Sept. 3, for their first regular meeting of the new school year. Betsy Ulrich, preschool specialist, center, was presented a Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation grant for her preschool classroom.
