Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Eleven Sheldon High School graduating seniors were celebrated during commencement exercises held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10, in the high school gym. The salutatorian address was given by Aiden Ellifrits, followed by Kinder Standley, who presented the valedictorian address. Guest speaker for the ceremony was Holly McCaslin and following the presentation of diplomas, scholarship awards were given to various students, followed with a senior class slide show that is always enjoyable for all to view. Following the recessional, students made their way to the back of the gym where they celebrated, then joined family and friends for even more celebrations.

According to Scott Kelley, theatre manager, sales are cut off at 310 cars and unfortunately some had to be turned away. No fears though as Twisters A Quiet Place, rated PG-13, will be playing at the drive-in every night through Thursday, July 25. An interesting note – The original Twisters movie that was released in 1996 proved to be a sell out as well.
