Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Jasper High School held its commencement exercises on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12, 3 p.m., at the high school gymnasium. A full house was on hand to celebrate the Jasper High School Class of 2024 on their big day. Makenna Althof gave the valedictorian address, followed with co-salutatorians, Livia Dumm and Taylor Hinds. The ceremony concluded with graduates tossing their caps up in the air, then having balloons dropped on them as they continued to celebrate with family and friends.

According to Scott Kelley, theatre manager, sales are cut off at 310 cars and unfortunately some had to be turned away. No fears though as Twisters A Quiet Place, rated PG-13, will be playing at the drive-in every night through Thursday, July 25. An interesting note – The original Twisters movie that was released in 1996 proved to be a sell out as well.
