Members of the Learn A Do 4-H Club recently completed work at the Barton County Memorial Park with funds from a Building Our American Community Grant that had been received.

Many turned out to enjoy the trucks prior to shutting down for the winter. Picnic in the Park is held at the Lamar City Park and will return in March of 2023.

Photos by Barton County Chamber of Commerce/Kristy Robertson A grand opening/ribbon cutting was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at The 682, located on the south side of the Lamar square at 123 W. 11th St. Events throughout the afternoon and evening included an axe throwing competition, a pool tournament and a cornhole tournament. Also on the premises was Big RENs BBQ and live music was provided by Dallas Stump. For more information on this new business visit their facebook page at The 682.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Emergency Medical Director Dr. Jeremy Sturgell expressed his appreciation to all that made the new 64-slice CT scanner a reality. It was noted that the new machine is a “truth teller” that will take rural healthcare to the next level.
