Mitchell places at Lebanon tournament

Alyssa Mitchell, an incoming junior at Lamar High School who is a member of the Tiger tennis team, recently placed second in singles in the Lebanon Tournament. She played in four matches that included players from Lebanon, Republic, Branson, Waynesville and Springfield. Alyssa’s parents are Joanna Moore and Ron Delrosario, Lamar. Ron began Alyssa’s tennis career at the age of 10 and has dedicated many years to help her get to where she currently is.

Jasper High School Lady Eagle Shiloh Storm recently eclipsed 2000 career assists. She was honored prior to the volleyball game with New Heights on Tuesday night, where Jasper came out ahead 3-0. The win improved Jasper’s record to 9-1 on the season. Jasper has swept every opponent it has faced from the state of Missouri so far this year, with the only loss by the Lady Eagles coming to Pittsburg, Kan., during the Frontenac Tournament.

Leia Cornish, daughter of Danny and Cean Cornish, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Leia is a cheerleader. She has a dog named Carmel. She enjoys doing hair and wants to be a cosmetologist when she grows up. She likes to hang out with her friends.
