LAMAR- The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date for Andrew Robert Grant, 63, Lamar, who died peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024. Details will be shared when available.

Condolences may be left online at www.konantzwarden.com.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Crystal, Lamar, Missouri; his children, Alex Grant, Pittsburg, Kan. and Annie Robinson and husband Austin, Pittsburg, Kan. and his cherished grandchildren, Dean and Alice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Grant.

Mr. Grant was born in Delhi, N.Y., to Robert and Gladys (Deeter) Grant. The family later relocated to Joplin, where he graduated from Joplin High School.

After high school he moved to Pittsburg, Kan. and joined the National Guard, where he served his country with dedication for 10 years. He pursued his passion for precision and engineering by attending trade school to become a machinist. His skill and commitment to his craft were evident throughout his 26-year career at Van Becelaere Machine Shop.

He married the love of his life, Crystal Hunsaker on Dec. 2, 2006. The couple lived in Pittsburg, Kan., raising their children before moving to Lamar after their children had grown.

Mr. Grant was a man of creativity and detail. He found joy in engineering small model parts such as wheels, where he meticulously glued and soldered them together. Known for his love of camouflage, he could often be found in camo gear, watching funny animal videos on YouTube or movies on Amazon Prime. His simple pleasures included sharing coffee with his wife while watching "The Price is Right" and enjoying dates at the laundromat or Walmart—reveling in what he lovingly called a "boring, happy life."
