Tipton made the three hour drive to play against the Tigers. Each of the Big 8 conference teams have one open date on their schedule to play against a non conference foe. Lamar's open date was during the third week of the season and Tipton also had an open date that week. Lamar will return the favor by making the trip to Tipton next year.
Tigers jump out to early lead and cruise to 44-...
The sixth grade Lamar Tigers blew away Joplin Blue by a score of 28-6. The gamed was played at Thomas M. O’Sullivan Stadium in Lamar. The Tigers will remain on their home grounds on Saturday, Sept. 21, where they will face off against Neosho Gold and Sept. 28, when they will play Mount Vernon. Be sure to come out and cheer them on.
Lamar sixth grade Tigers blow past Joplin, 28-6
Play began Saturday afternoon, Sept. 7, in Webb City, with the third grade Lamar Tigers taking on Webb City Red, followed with games played by the fourth, fifth and sixth grades. The third grade Tigers won their game 6-28, with fourth grade losing 28-0 and fifth grade falling 24-22. The battle between the Tigers and the Cardinals culminated with a night played “under the lights” by the sixth grade teams. It was an extremely hard fought battle between the two teams, with Webb City coming out victorious, winning the game by a score of 24-18. The Lamar Tigers will play at home on Saturday, Sept. 14, against Joplin Blue and then on September 21 they will remain home to face Neosho Gold. Be sure to come out and cheer on your Tigers!

Tigers take win over East Newton
The Lamar High School Class of 1969 met the weekend of September 14 for their 55th class reunion. Festivities started with the Friday night football game against Tipton. On Saturday morning, breakfast was served at Thiebaud before heading up to Memorial Park to look around. Saturday night, Chicken Marys catered to 66 classmates. Furthest to travel was Stan Gabrielson from South Carolina. Out of the 106 that graduated in 1969, 26 have passed away.
