Prior to the Lamar City Council meeting held Monday evening, Sept. 23, Michael Weisensee was sworn in as the newest member of the Lamar Police Department. Swearing him in was Lamar City Clerk Felicia Costley, with his wife Kate pinning on his badge.

Kamryn McCulloch, daughter of Chad and Wendy McCulloch, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. She has a dog named Milo. She plays volleyball, basketball and softball. Her favorite subject is Social Studies. In her spare time Kamryn likes to play with her dog. She can solve a Rubik's Cube in less than one minute.

Lamar High School Class of 1974 holds 50th reunion
Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Mike Harvey Construction received the bid to completely renovate the restrooms at the Barton County Senior Center in Lamar. When completed, the restrooms will be completely ADA compliant.
