GOLDEN CITY- A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the First Christian Church in Golden City for Eula “Marlene” Parker, 90, Golden City, who died Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, at Good Shepherd Community Care in Lockwood. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golden City.
A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.
Contributions are suggested and made payable to I.O.O.F. Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Kay Stalker and husband Alan, Golden City and Lori Beth Gibson and husband Jody, Wyandotte, Okla.; two grandchildren, Courtney Davis and husband Ryan and Haileigh Heath and husband Landon, all of Ozark; five great-grandchildren, Aidan Davis, Tucker Davis, Sawyer Davis, Hudson Heath and Landree Heath, all of Ozark; one sister, Donna Dubry, Carthage and one sister-in-law, Donna Hostetter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; one sister, Phyllis Jean Carey and one brother, Larry Hostetter.
Mrs. Parker was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Webb City, to Leonard E. Hostetter and Eula R. (Dawson) Hostetter. She married Norman Wayne Parker on May 16, 1955, in Miami, Okla. He died in 2021.
Mrs. Parker was a hard working farm wife and homemaker. She loved bird watching and would always be cooking up something good in the kitchen to feed everyone on the farm and hosting family dinners. She could often be found at her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's school events and ballgames. She enjoyed Russell Stover candy and Dum-Dum's suckers so much, she could have owned shares of the company. She was a member of the Morris Grove Extension Club and the First Christian Church of Golden City.
