Korra McManis, daughter of Justin and Misty McManis, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. She likes to hang out with friends and family. She can play "Mary had a Little Lamb" on her guitar. Korra’s favorite subjects are Math and Reading. She likes basketball and she likes to babysit.

Photos courtesy of the Lamar Police Department The Lamar Police Department has become a very popular place to visit during the Halloween Hullabaloo and Thursday, Oct. 31 of this year was no different. One couldn’t have asked for better weather as all types of characters invaded the Lamar Square during the annual Halloween Hullabaloo. Trick or treaters could be found in masses as they circled the square and visited the Wyatt Earp Park from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. A costume contest was held at 4:30 p.m., at Memorial Hall. Several other activities were held throughout the evening, giving everyone the opportunity to show off their unique and very imaginative costumes.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger As a memento, the framed picture of the current Lamar City Hall was presented to Russ Worsley, who retired as city administrator during ceremonies held Thursday morning, Oct. 31, at the Lamar City Hall meeting room. Worsley was extremely instrumental in the planning of the new city hall.
