Lamar Democrat/Chris MorrowThe Jasper Lady Eagles are in the midst of a magical season. Here they pose for a photo after winning the district championship in three sets over Liberal Tuesday on their home court. Thursday they knocked off Archie and then they defeated Galena 3-0 to earn a trip to the Class 1 Final Four where they will square off with Winona November 8 in the semifinal. The winner advances to the state championship where they will take on the winner of the Advance versus Santa Fe contest on the 9th. The Final Four is being played in Cape Girardeau. The Eagles go in with a record of 34-1.

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Jasper Eagles put up a fight, but the Liberal Bulldogs survived Friday night to keep their season alive with a win in the battle of four and five seeds in district play. Here junior Elam Beaman tackles Jasper's Clayton Anderson while Beaman's teammates, Cole Worsley (No. 9) and Jesse McIntire (No. 44) hustle to get in on the play. The Bulldogs, who won the game 60-38, will advance and travel to Lockwood Friday night to take on the top-seeded Tigers.
