Grants awarded at BCCF’s “Night of Philanthropy”

The MO Beef Kids Program was awarded $50,000 by the Danny and Jewell Little Grantmaking Fund. MO Beef Kids program, who has been the heartbeat of Barton County since 2017, connects schools and their food service professionals to cattle farmers and ranchers to “beef” up school lunches.

Poultry, rabbit and cavy show has first show
Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A check in the amount of $250 was recently presented to the City of Lamar by Lamar Cruise Night. The money, that was donated by friends and cruisers at the Christmas in July event held on the Lamar square, will be used for the Shop with a Hero program. On November 18, the Masonic Lodge in Lamar (Lamar Lodge No. 292) presented a check to the Barton County Memorial Park to go towards the very popular Flag Club. Since the Flag Club started just two months ago, over $4,000 has been raised. Pictured, left to right are, Michael Wolford, Gordie Godfrey, David Hieber and Jerry Stepp.
