Marilyn Kay Rose, age 85, of Mindenmines, MO, passed away on January 31, 2025, at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, KS.
She was born in Lamar, MO, the daughter of Fred and Cecile (Dumm) Braker.
Marilyn graduated from Lamar High School and, in 1957, married Jack Rose in Mindenmines. They shared 49 years together until his passing in 2006.
She worked as a secretary for the Jefferson County School District in Colorado.
Marilyn was a member of the Mindenmines Christian Church and actively volunteered with the Red Cross, assisting in making bandages to be sent overseas. In her free time, she enjoyed attending garage sales, collecting antique bottles, and camping with her family.
She is survived by her children, Nick (Anita) Rose of Mindenmines, MO, and Tammy (Ross) Arellano of Girard, KS; her siblings, Ed (Jane) Braker of Jasper, MO, Pam (Billy) Green, of Jasper, MO, and Jay (Sharon) Braker of Liberal, MO; her sister-in-law, Wilma Braker, of Lamar, MO; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Wayne Braker, and her grandson Christopher Arellano.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Mindenmines Christian Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mindenmines Christian Church and can be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home.
