Swarnes shines in Lady Bulldogs’ homecoming contest

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Liberal high school senior Taylor Swarnes prepares to knock down a three pointer during Friday night's homecoming win over visiting Drexel, 51-18. According to MSHSAA's website, Brandi Goodell's team is now 17-6. Swarnes recently eclipsed the 1,500 point mark in her career.

Highland Brew hosts February chamber spotlight
Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Directors and board members of Peterson Outdoors Ministries participated at the groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 8, for the new bunkhouse to be located at Lodge of Hope, near Bellamy. According to Director Tron Peterson, the bunkhouse will house an additional 16-20 veterans at events and will double the amount of individuals they are able to minister to throughout the year.

Kellie Wilson, daughter of Crystal Davis, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Kellie loves riding her bike and playing basketball, football and softball. She has six pets - three dogs, two cats and a turtle. Her favorite subject is Math and she likes to help people.
