Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Archers from all over the area came together recently for a large day-long tournament at Lamar. Here several take aim in a round at Lamar Middle School.

Liberal High School senior Jordan Goodell recently signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Crowder College, where both of her parents, Brandi and Jeremy Goodell, also played sports. Brandi played basketball and Jeremy played baseball. They, along with her brother Jack, are pictured. Goodell is a three-year standout for the Lady Bulldogs on the diamond. She will be looking to lead the team as they begin their season later this week at a tournament in Joplin.

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The young Lockwood Lady Tigers crew is on a roll. They slipped past Liberal, 55-50 in the district title game and then put together a dominating performance in the Class 1 state sectional Monday when they routed Hurley 56-35. They advanced to Saturday's quarterfinal against Chadwick. Here Asa Lasater dribbles through traffic in the district semifinal win over Dadeville. Catalina Sheriff, daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth Sheriff, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Catalina likes painting and doing make up in her free time. She has one cat named Tide. She participates in gymnastics and cheerleading. Things that are important to her are Jesus, church, skincare, family, friends and sports.
