Lamar Lady Tigers participate in Joplin tournament

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Lamar Lady Tigers softball team played in a tournament at Joplin last weekend. Here Peyton Eddie scores a run in a Saturday 10-0 afternoon win over Adrian. The Lady Tigers finished the tournament 2-2.

Liberal Lady Bulldogs season off to strong start
Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Lamar Tigers started their season off right by winning three games in their own tournament last weekend. Here Lamar senior Cooper Haun barrels up a high fastball from Jasper pitcher Treyton Ritchhart and drives it through the right side to bring in a run. The Eagles put up a good fight but the Tigers came out on top 7-5. The Tigers also beat Butler 11-1 and Diamond 7-6. The Eagles defeated Butler in the tournament.

Liberal High School senior Jordan Goodell recently signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Crowder College, where both of her parents, Brandi and Jeremy Goodell, also played sports. Brandi played basketball and Jeremy played baseball. They, along with her brother Jack, are pictured. Goodell is a three-year standout for the Lady Bulldogs on the diamond. She will be looking to lead the team as they begin their season later this week at a tournament in Joplin.
