JIMMIE JONES

Jimmie Allen Jones, of Sheldon, MO, passed away at the age of 67 on April 4, 2025, at his home.

Jimmie was born June 4, 1957, in Nevada, MO, to Ronnie and Joann (Brown) Jones. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1975 and worked as a journeyman plumber for many years.

Jimmie was the kind of person who never met a stranger. He had a warm, easygoing nature and a sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone’s face—just like his dad. Jimmie’s love for animals was undeniable—being around them always brought joy to his heart.

He enjoyed playing the drums and going hunting. Recently, Jimmy loved attending dances throughout the area with his mom. Jimmie also cherished spending time with his family and often said he wished he had done more of it throughout his life. Family was important to him, and he loved them deeply.

 He is survived by his children: Zachary Jones and his wife, Misty, of Mt. Vernon, MO; Tiffany Austin and her husband, Matthew, of Springfield, MO; and Serenity Wolfe and her husband, Dustin, of Seven Lakes, NC. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Kegan Jones, Brody Jones, Myah Jones, Millie Austin, Maggie Austin, Brielle Wolfe, and Sadie Wolfe. Additional survivors include his mother, Joann Jones of Sheldon, MO, and two nephews, Anthony Jones and his wife, Amber, of Lamar, MO, and Brandon Jones of Ft. Collins, CO.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Jones, and two brothers, Dusty Jones and Travis Jones.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada, MO.
