Stormy Cuba, nutritionist for the Area Agency on Aging’s Lamar Senior Center and also for their services in the four counties in Southwest Missouri, presented a very interesting program on Tuesday, April 1, covering the services available to senior citizens.

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Lamar Tiger track and field teams hosted a four-team meet last week. Here Liberal sophomore Ally Barton runs the last leg of the 4x400 meter dash. Barton is a runner to watch this spring, coming off an impressive season as freshman and fourth place finish at the state cross country meet last fall.

Josie Coy, daughter of Matthew and Angela Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In her spare time Josie likes to draw. She plays volleyball. She has a dog and a cat. Her favorite subject is Social Studies. Things important to her are her family, God and spending time with people.

Barton County Chamber of Commerce/Kristy Robertson Nominations and interviews began in February for candidates to be included in the various Barton County Chamber of Commerce recognition awards that were presented to a full gathering held Thursday, April 10, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Memorial Hall in Lamar.
