Despite the recent wet weather the area has been experiencing, and after having to make some adjustments, the Lamar Elks Lodge No. 2800 was still able to hold its Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at 12 noon. Rather than being held on the park lawn, the event was set up inside the shelter house, where members had been busy getting ready. Tables categorized into age groups 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 9-12 were laden with several larger gifts, along with bags of eggs that were handed out to the children. There were 4,000 eggs distributed, with 400 $5 bills included in several of the eggs, along with tickets for bigger prizes to be chosen from. Hot dogs and cold drinks were served to the many attending andopportunities were offered to have pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.
