My mom and me on our last road trip before the pandemic — visiting our newspaper office in Arkansas. A special memory I’ll always treasure. I was a little more blonde and had a few less wrinkles back then… but Mom is just as beautiful as ever.

Barton County Chamber of Commerce/Kristy Robertson The Barco Drive-In Theatre in Lamar celebrated its 75th anniversary on Sunday, April 26 and Monday, April 27, with a free showing of Smokey & The Bandit (PG). A special ribbon cutting was held by the Barton County Chamber of Commerce at 8 p.m. on Monday, with free cake being served. Plaza Theatre and Barco t-shirts were also for sale. The Barco is the longest continuous running drive-in theatre in Missouri, having never closed since its opening on April 28, 1950!
Barco celebrates 75 years and beyond...
The 2025 Lamar High School Masquerade Senior Prom was held Saturday evening, April 26, at The Gaderian in Carthage. Prom king candidates included Koen Littlejohn, Luke Tabakian and Angel Angelov, with queen candidates being Isabel Osborne, Kayelee Crane and Mackenzie Breshears. Crowned were Luke Tabakian, king and Isabel Osborne, queen.
