Photos by Kristy Robertson/Barton County Chamber of Commerce Cassie Sorden, owner of Wildflower Soul, a new retailer to open a business on the south side of the Lamar square, offered the community a day of celebration on Friday, June 13, complete with a food truck, several stations inside the store that specialized in anything from dog tags to custom hats, togive-aways and special discounts. Also held at 12 noon was a ribbon cutting held by the Barton County Chamber of Commerce, celebrating the business’s grand opening.

The Liberal Area Civic Group sponsored the annual flag retirement ceremony held Saturday evening, June 14, in the south City Park in Liberal, under the new pavilion. A total of 31 participants were in attendance, with 124 flags being properly retired.
