Picnic in the Park offers wide variety

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Although storms were supposed to be moving into the area in the afternoon, along with high humidity, the lunch hour on Thursday, June 25 found many at Picnic in the Park. A wide variety of items, anywhere from barbecue to hot dogs, to Mexican food, to hamburgers and sandwiches and just about anything in between was offered. To top it off were trailers that offered lemonade and various other tasty drinks. This cutie was helping her mom at Not Ya Momma’s – Waffles and Lemonade. In case the inclement weather did happen for the supper crowd, Lamar City Parks and Recreation Director Heidi Johnson posted menus, along with call in numbers, for those not wanting to have to wait in the rain. They can be found on the Lamar City Park facebook page. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, July 23.
