SHARON JOYCE MEIN

On Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, Sharon Joyce Mein of Golden City, MO passed away in the care of her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, MO to George and Julia (Ward) Beeson. She graduated from Cole Camp, MO in 1963. She married and moved to Ionia, MO, where she completed her associate degree. She moved back to Ionia, MO in 1975, where she worked for Stackhouse Tax Service and then Whiteman AFB before starting her own tax and bookkeeping service. She owned and operated Golden City Tax Service and operated it for 30 of her 60 years as a tax preparer. She volunteered in her community and served on the board of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home and was also the tax collector for Marion Township. She brought people security and comfort through the gift of over 400 quilts she made in her life. Joyce was the most courageous person her son’s know.

Joyce is survived by her husband Rayburn Mein; sons Kevin (Kim) Darden of Andover, KS, Keith Darden of Lockwood, MO, Keiley (Autumn) Darden of Spring Hill, TN; stepsons Kevin (Rozie) Mein of Pittsburg, KS,  Kem (Kristy) Mein of Lockwood, MO, Brock (Kristi) Diamond, MD, and Branson (Sophie) Mein of Fairway, KS. She is also survived by her brothers Dwight “Bud” (Sharon) Beeson of Cole Camp, MO and James “Jimmy” Beeson of North Kansas City, MO; 23 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

 She is preceded in death by her parents Julia and George Beeson, brother George Beeson Jr., and step daughter Brandi Mein.

 The family will receive visitors from 9:00 to 11:00 AM and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday Aug. 29, 2026, at the Golden City Baptist Church.
