DON HOLLAND

LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home for Donald Dean Holland, 72, Lamar, who died Monday, May 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Pastor Curt Holland and Minister Scott Grey will officiate. Burial will be in Worsley Cemetery, near Bronaugh.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Tim Holland, Lamar; a brother, Howard Holland and wife Louise, Liberal; a nephew, Curt Holland and wife Mary and their children of Nashville, Tenn. and a niece, Tina VanKirk and husband Phil and their children of Lamar.
Mr. Holland was born Feb. 17, 1945, in Sheldon, to Howard T. and Ruth (George) Holland. After graduating from Bronaugh High School in 1962, he worked for a short time for Hallmark in Kansas City, before moving to Willard where he worked for Lily Cup Company. His career as a printing press operator took him to California for the next 18 years. He returned to Missouri in 1988, working at Thorco for several years before retiring in 1992 due to ill health. He had earned many trophies through his skill at bowling and his favorite outdoor sport was bass fishing.
