JASPER- A memorial visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Weng Funeral Chapel for Peggy Sue (Jones) Donald, 62, formerly of Jasper, who died February 9, 2022, at her home in Phoenix, Ariz.

Survivors include her mother, Betty Lou Whetzel, Jasper; one brother, Donald Dean Leedy, Lamar; two uncles, Richard Asbell, and Garland Asbell and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Louis Jones; her son, James Ray Donald Jr.; aunts and uncles, Elmer and Patty Asbell, Bill and Leta Asbell, Mary Asbell and Joyce Asbell and cousins Greg and Brent Asbell.

Mrs. Donald was born Oct. 18, 1959, in Carthage, to Louis and Betty (Asbell) Jones. She graduated from Jasper High School and went to Joplin Cosmetology School. She had worked in the fraud department for American Express for 24 years and then Wells Fargo for 10 years.

She was united in marriage to James Donald in February of 1981. He preceded her in death in February of 1982.
