LAMAR- Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Milford Christian Church, for Linda Lorene Madison, 71, Lamar, who died Friday, March 29, 2024. Burial was at Morehead Cemetery.

A visitation was held prior to the service time on Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; one son, Mike Madison, Lamar; one daughter, Christy Pyle and husband Casey, Willard and three grandchildren, Charlize Pyle, Callie Pyle and Mikayla Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Madison was born Oct. 24, 1952, in Lamar, to Cecil Leroy Norwood and Mary Lorene (Selvey) Norwood. She married Charles Lee Madison Jr. on July 2, 1971, at the Christian Church in Sheldon. The couple lived in Girard, Kan. from 1971-77, and then moved east of Lamar in 1977, where they still reside on the family farm. They had been married for 52 years.

Mrs. Madison attended school in Sheldon K-12 and graduated in 1970. After high school she attended cosmetology school in Nevada, Mo. She was owner and operator of Linda's Kut and Kurl for about 36 years. She also ran a postal service out of her beauty shop in Milford. She loved visiting with her customers. Mrs. Madison was inducted on August 17, 2019 into the Missouri 4H Hall of Fame for her 30+ years of dedicated service to the Barton County 4H program. She started her journey in 1986 as a project leader for the Irwin 4H Club. She then moved to the roll as a club leader and Barton County 4H council secretary. After retirement she enjoyed traveling to Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
