LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at the Community of Christ Church in Lamar for Billie Irene Reno, who died Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Burial will. be held at Baker’s Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested and made payable to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include two daughters, Jerri Davis and husband Eddie and Kimberly Culp and husband Robert; five grandchildren, Judd Davis and wife Dawn, Jenica Phillips and husband Jeremy, Jerron Davis and Daniel Gomez, Branton Baker and Brock Baker and wife Amber; seven great-grandchildren, Dalton Davis, Kenna Davis, Raylee Davis, Jackson Phillips, Jemma Phillips, Darron Baker and Harwell Baker; a niece, Marcie Palmer and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and a sister, Patricia Talbott, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mrs. Reno was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Pittsburg, Kan., to William Jones and Twila (Green) Jones. She spent much of her early life on her grandparent’s (Claud and Alma Green) farm in rural Sheldon. She would reside in many of the southern states with her then husband, Robert Doke. She later settled in Iantha and then later in Lamar.

She finished her working years as an arc welder at Thorco Industries. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Lamar. She lived her life on her terms and was proud of her independence.
