Mitchell and Griffitth place third in Joplin tournament

Alyssa Mitchell and Eliana Griffith recently placed third in the Joplin tournament, following five matches. The two competed against teams from Joplin, Willard, Branson and Carl Junction.

Seventh grade Lady Tigers go undefeated
Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow Golden City freshman Braxyn Wirth puts up a jumper over a Hurley defender during the Eagles home game Friday night. They dropped the contest 90-70 in a shootout. The Eagles will be hosting the 68th Golden City Tournament for boys and girls teams beginning January 13.

Lockwood Tigers win over visiting Jasper Eagles
Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Jasper Lady Eagles and Lockwood Lady Tigers squared off in a battle of two of the area's better teams recently at Lockwood. The visiting Lady Eagles came away with a 56-55 overtime victory. According to MSHSAA's website, the Lady Eagles are 10-0 at the Christmas break. The young Lady Tigers team is off to an impressive 7-2 start. Here Alivea Roberts is defended by Lockwood's Whitney Sangster.
