LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Milford Christian Church, for Sharron Sue (Shaul) Chapman, 86, Lamar, who died Friday, July 19, 2024 at her home in Lamar, surrounded by her husband and family. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar.

A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested and made payable to Milford Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Merdith Chapman; one son, Roderic Chapman and wife Kim; two daughters, Rhonda Schipull and husband Norman and Rynelle Ferrant and husband Philip; six grandchildren, Rachel Chapman, Robert Chapman and wife Nikki, Kyle Chapman and wife Megan, Sarah Peel, Brittany Ferrant and Jonathan Ferrant; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorlyne Schorzman and a sister-in-law, Ellen Jo Morey.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Shaul and wife Maryann; sisters, Dorma Bradley and husband Seth and Shirlee Miller and husband Charles; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Fontella Garriss; brothers-in-law, Loren Morey and Clarence Schorzman and grandson, Brandon Peel.

Mrs. Chapman was born Sept. 30, 1937, in St. Francis, Kan., to Glenn Porter Shaul and Gladys Marion (Fisher) Shaul. She graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1955. On December 25, 1955, she married Merdith Ellis Chapman in Lamar.

Mrs. Chapman moved to Lamar at the age of 10. She was a member of Milford Christian Church for 26 years, where she shined for Christ through serving her church. She enjoyed traveling the world, working in her yard, playing golf, bowling, square dancing and playing games with her family. She served her community by volunteering with Meals on Wheels, checking in items for the annual Lamar Fair and supporting her husband Merdith with his VFW responsibilities.
