Lamar Tiger Homecoming Court
Due to tough play by both the Lamar Tigers sixth grade youth football team’s offense and defense, they blew out Mt. Vernon on Saturday, Sept. 28, by a score of 38-0. The Tigers will travel to play Carthage White on Saturday, Oct. 5, followed with the final regularly scheduled game being held October 5, at Nevada. The sixth grade super bowl will be played October 26 and 27, at Carthage.

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow For many years Terry Redman has had a ringside seat at Lamar High School football games and other sporting events and through his dedication and his skill, he has been able to bring what he's seen to the masses with his camera. Terry was honored Friday night by the Lamar Tigers prior to the annual homecoming contest and was on the field for the opening coin toss. The Lamar Democrat feels very fortunate that Terry has shared his shots with our readers all of these years and we also thank him for his dedication to his craft and to area athletes.
Redman recognized for dedication and skills
Prior to the Lamar City Council meeting held Monday evening, Sept. 23, Michael Weisensee was sworn in as the newest member of the Lamar Police Department. Swearing him in was Lamar City Clerk Felicia Costley, with his wife Kate pinning on his badge.
Weisensee joins LPD family
Kamryn McCulloch, daughter of Chad and Wendy McCulloch, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. She has a dog named Milo. She plays volleyball, basketball and softball. Her favorite subject is Social Studies. In her spare time Kamryn likes to play with her dog. She can solve a Rubik's Cube in less than one minute.
