BOBBY JOE “BJ” MORGAN

LIBERAL- Bobby Joe "BJ" Morgan, 62, of Liberal, Missouri, passed away on December 1, 2024.Born in Greenville, Mississippi to Martha and Bobby Joe Morgan Sr., BJ grew up in Lake Village, Arkansas and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1981.
After working as a welder on a riverboat, BJ experienced a spiritual transformation at a church camp in 1982. This led him to attend Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore, Oklahoma, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. During this time he met Tresa Dickey, who became his wife on June 1, 1984. They settled in Liberal, Missouri in 1985, building a life together.
BJ’s career included construction, lawn care and bus driving before becoming an Independent Claims Adjuster. His faith and humble beginnings shaped his life, instilling a strong work ethic and a generous spirit. Whether through acts of service or financial contributions, BJ shared his blessings to glorify God.
BJ loved his family deeply and enjoyed traveling, deer hunting and time with his grandson. An active church member, he supported youth ministries and missions. Known for his contagious laugh and storytelling, BJ brought joy to those around him.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Tresa; daughter Kerrie Bollinger and her husband Jason of Greenbrier, Arkansas; grandson Israel Bollinger; father-in-law Bob Dickey and wife Kathryn; brother-in-law David Dickey; nephew Chance Dickey and wife Jordan, along with their children, Easton and Archer; and niece Gwen Findley and husband Ricky, with their children, Sam and Kylee.
BJ was preceded in death by his beloved Grandma Morgan, parents, brother Terry Morgan, sister Belinda Martinez and mother-in-law Dorothy Dickey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 1:00–2:00 PM at Hannon Free Will Baptist Church in Liberal, Missouri, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delta Men's Association in care of the funeral home. BJ will be remembered for his faith, kindness and love for his family.
