Sandra Lynn Rook (Nelson), 60, of Port Orchard, WA, passed away at her home on December 26, 2024.
She was born in Orange, CA, the daughter of Bev Nelson and William Nelson.
After leaving the Pacific Northwest for Missouri she spent her adult years here and raised 3 children.
She was a proud member of the US Armed Forces and served her country as a Medical Specialist from 1987 until her Honorable Discharge in December 1994. During her service she was awarded badges for Marksman for the M16 and Expert for Hand Grenade.
Sandy was an exceptionally talented seamstress, and loved to craft. She was also inspired by her Native American heritage and the love of ourdoors.
She was a dedicated hard-working employee for over 20 years at various Walmart stores in MO and WA.
Sandy loved the Lord with all her heart and fervently prayed to God on behalf of many of her family and friends.
She is survived by her parents Bev Nelson and William Nelson, her children Amy Crockett (Derek), Brittany Blanchard, and Billy O’Brien. Her siblings: Byron Nelson (Sharon), JoDee Hull (Rick), Paula Bayne (Daren), 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by one sister Cindy.
Please join the family in a Celebration of Life for Sandy on Saturday, February 22, 1 p.m., at Oakton Church, 318 S State Hwy J, Lamar.
