Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Stan Davis spoke of his affection for Lamar to those attending the ceremony. Also pictured is Chris Kremp, who served as emcee, along with Melinda Morgan and Brenna Morey who had quite a time trying to hold the quilts up for display in the strong winds. They did a wonderful job!

Barton County 4-H joined more than 900 4-H youth on Wednesday, March 26, 4-H Day at the Capitol. 4-H youth from all over the state gathered, representing 88 counties from Missouri. Forty 4-H youth and volunteers from Barton County attended, according to MU Extension 4-H Youth Program Associate Elaine Davis.

Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Liberal Lady Bulldogs got their season off to a strong start over the weekend in a tournament at Joplin. They defeated Lamar, Exeter and Purdy and dropped a contest with East Newton. Here Gracie Borghardt slides headfirst to score a run in a 10-3 victory over Purdy.
